Detailed 1/350 scale assembly model kit of the Russian Improved Kilo class diesel-electric attack submarine. Designated "Project 636 Varshavyanka" in Russia and "Improved Kilo" by NATO, this class of submarine is the more advanced version of the original Kilo Class, the "Project 877 Paltus", NATO designation "Kilo", which first entered service in the Soviet Navy in 1982. Nicknamed "The Black Hole" by the U.S. Navy for its uncanny ability to "disappear", the "Improved Kilo" is thought to be one of the quietest diesel-electric submarine classes in the world. Kilo Class Submarines are still in service with the Russian Navy and with navies of eight other countries. The type will be succeeded by the Lada class submarine, which began sea trials in 2005. This 1/350 scale Bronco assembly kit features the "Improved Kilo" with a total 36 parts molded in grey plastic. Decals for two different versions included.
