Item DescriptionThe Bi-Level "Gallery" commuter car continues to be a favorite design of many commuter rail agencies throughout the United States and Canada. The design made its debut on the Chicago & North Western railroad for their Chicago area commuter service in the 1950s. The Chicago Metra Pullman Bi-Level car is fully featured with prototype smooth rolling trucks, full interiors and the distinctive green tinted windows of the Chicago commuter service. The body of the car itself is adorned in a two-tone silver painted layout that emulates the real car's mix of bare stainless steel (such as on the doors or the metal "METRA" ownership plate) and silver paint; unlike later cars such as the Nippon Sharyo bi-levels, the Pullman cars did not have stainless steel bodies and thus were painted to try and mimic the appearance of stainless cars.
