1957 Ford Custom Model Kit

Edward Glenn Roberts, Jr. loved baseball and car racing. Baseball got him his nickname, "Fireball," but his victories on dirt tracks turned him to racing full time. His most famous racer was a 1957 Ford with a "Thunderbird Special" supercharged 312 c.i. V-8. In it, he won eight races. His victories were second only to his personality and he was voted "Most Popular Driver". This kit features chrome plated parts, soft black tires, detailed supercharger 312 V-8 engine, 50s style racing interior, bodywork modifications, and racing suspension parts.

As an aficionado of 1957 Fords I want to share that Revells model perpetuates a glaring error in 1957 Ford restoration and representation in that the front gravel pan was originally produced in Argent Silver and only Argent Silver regardless of model from Custom to Fairlane, Wagon and Ranchero. Factory painted police cars and race cars were no exception. Also, the Custom came with only one interior without option, which was Silver & Gray Stanung Vinyl & Gray Random Block Fabric. The fabric is well represented by the decals in Revells kit, but would never have been used with any other color of vinyl other than gray.As for the race car version, reference photos of the actual race cars (not clones or restorations) will show that HolmanMoody wheels were mandatory for safety whereas these kits come with stock appearing wheels even in the race versions.
