Weighing more than 3,000 tons, it developed over one million pounds of thrust and was the largest and most awesome rocket ever created. On the morning of July 16, 1969, Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were perched atop a mighty SATURN V launch vehicle in preparation for their historic journey to the barren lunar surface.

I really enjoyed building this kit. Still have some detail painting left, but looks great on display in partially completed state. The lem legs are a touch fragile be careful when removing them. The hull is quite detailed and the fact that it can be easily broken down into its separate stages makes it a great teaching tool as well as giving you some creative display options.

This kit builds so solid a model that it can be used to demonstrate the stages of the moon landing mission. First appearing in the late 60's when NASA was achieving the goal of moon exploration, this model was designed to include the LEM (Lunar Exploratiion Module) as well as the command capsule. The model makes an impressive office decoration.
